Barnabas is a ministry-coordination app that helps a church connect volunteers with people who need help, manage help requests, and communicate. This policy explains what information the app collects, how it is used, and the choices you have. Barnabas is provided by Hiddetek ("we", "us") on behalf of the church that operates it.
We do not collect location data, contacts, advertising identifiers, or usage analytics for tracking.
Your name, ministry profile, and contact details are visible to other members and administrators of your church group so they can coordinate with you. Messages are visible to their intended recipients. We do not sell your information or use it for advertising.
We use trusted providers that process data on our behalf, only to operate the app:
We keep your information while your account is active. You can delete your account at any time in the app under Profile → "Delete my account." This removes your profile and account, and anonymizes any past help requests you submitted so the church's records stay consistent. Some information you shared with others (such as messages already delivered) may remain with those recipients. To request deletion by other means, contact us below.
Data is transmitted over encrypted connections (HTTPS) and stored with Google Firebase using access rules that restrict who can read and write it. No method of transmission or storage is 100% secure, but we take reasonable measures to protect your information.
Barnabas is intended for a church's volunteers and members and is not directed to children under 13. If a minor uses the app, it is under the supervision of the church and a parent or guardian.
We may update this policy from time to time. Material changes will be reflected by the "Last updated" date above.
